Gator Gratitude

SPECIAL THANKS TO LA COUNTY SUPERVISOR DON KNABE LA County Supervisor Don Knabe's Arts Education Partnership Program (AEPP) awarded Grand View a generous $7,387 grant to support our 2015-16 performing arts programs: Kindergarten--Pantomime; 1st grade--Three Piggy Opera; 2nd grade--Hip Hop; 3rd grade--Square Dance; 4th grade--Early California Dance; and 5th grade--Urban Contemporary Dance. Each program is a residency: an instructor gives weekly lessons over 10 to 12 weeks that culminate in a final performance. Thanks to this grant, a portion of every grade's program is underwritten by Supervisor Knabe's AEPP funds. Performing arts not only enrich students' cultural understanding, but they promote self-expression and self-confidence, and provide an opportunity to practice, master and perform new skills in front of an audience. A huge thank you to Supervisor Knabe for this grant, and thank you to Lisa Barrios for writing the grant application on behalf of Grand View. Bravo for performing arts!
