But this is just the beginning. Your year-end gift will help hasten the day when the Endowment safeguards our schools from budget cuts and generations of children will reap the benefits of a superior education. There are so many ways you can give, all tax deductible. Thank you, and happy holidays --now and forever!

County Health Advisement

ISSUED FOR MEADOWS ELEMENTARY NEIGHBORHOOD The Los Angeles County Health Department, as directed by the CDC, has posted signs around Meadows School about a recent case of endemic typhus. Specific residents have been notified. The illness is being traced to the fleas from a feral cat. The Health Department recommends that residents discontinue feeding feral cats and that under no circumstances should feral cats be petted or allowed in the house. It would be wise to have house pets remain on an anti-flea medication regimen. See the Public Health flyer for info about the illness. To date and to our knowledge this is an isolated illness and we have no information leading us to believe that any student or staff has been infected with this illness. Ellyn Schneider, Executive Director, Student Services, MBUSD.
