From the Principal

DEAR GRAND VIEW FAMILIES It’s been one week since school has opened and life at Grand View is really humming along! Teachers have hit the ground running and students are engaged, respectful of the instructional environment and contributing incredible ideas to their learning communities. As each new year means change, this year has been particularly full. If you didn’t have a chance to read my introduction letter, please take a moment to click the link and do so.

SHARING STORIES Each day I have been visiting classrooms sharing some of my favorite read-aloud stories with students. The characters in all the stories I have chosen demonstrate a resilient and kind spirit, similar to the pervasive feeling at GV. It is truly a special and deeply passionate place.

EXPRESSING GRATITUDE I am also starting off the year encouraging our little and big Gators to feel and share gratitude for the great community we live in and the wonderful school on the hill with a grand view! Here is a link to a short video (a Thai commercial) I showed students this week during my character assemblies. It demonstrates the power of small actions toward others and becoming that "hero in the hallway." It will inspire great family conversations.
ALL SCHOOL ASSEMBLY 9/8 8:30AM Please remember to join us on the upper playground for a short assembly celebrating our resilient American spirit and pride! Thank you, again, for your gracious welcome and support. You have truly amazing children... our future is so very bright! With warm appreciation, Mrs. Doyle.
