Principal's Message

JOYFUL HOLIDAY GIVING We delivered dozens of incredible holiday gifts to our friends at Menlo School in Los Angeles on Thursday. The PTA room and our cars were overflowing. I am in awe of the generosity! The warm reception we received at Menlo, and the smiles on the children's faces, filled us with the holiday spirit. Thank you to those who generously purchased gifts. The children know that someone reached out to them with love and care and it warmed their hearts. Thank you to each Gator who donated a gently used book. They will fill the many empty shelves in the Menlo School Library. Thank you! Thank you! Wishing each and every family a blessed and happy holiday season filled with peace and the joy of family. Gratefully yours, Mrs. Doyle.

Gator Gratitude

STAFF HOLIDAY GIFT CONTRIBUTIONS A huge, heartfelt, thank you from all the Grand View staff for your kind contributions. The generosity shown was significant and is very much appreciated. It's truly wonderful to be a part of the Gator family! Thank you!

A Very Special Performance 12/18

GV STUDENTS ADMITTED AT NO CHARGE! Grand View is very lucky to have secured a special encore performance TODAY, 12/18, at 3pm in the PAC of the sold-out show Once Upon a Road Trip. Written by Casey Rohrer, a local 14-year-old living with cerebral palsy, and co-written and directed by Angelo Michael Masino, the play chronicles one family's memorable trip to Yellowstone. Along with local actors, Casey performs in the play, speaking through his Tobii, an eye-tracking device. Ticket sales benefit a foundation that provides artistic experiences for special needs children, but GV students may attend for FREE! Click here for tickets. Click here for a video about the project. Click here for the flyer and visit for more info.

GVPTA Membership Hits 91%

IMPRESSIVE PARTICIPATION! Thank you to 482 families for joining the PTA and for your contributions! Because of your generosity, we have met our 2016-17 fundraising goal! Excluding our fantastic teachers and staff, the PTA funds nearly everything else that's not nailed down and that makes all the difference for every child and for our thriving community. The funds you have provided to the PTA have already benefited Grand View students and teachers in so many essential ways:
  • Continuing investments in technology: 64 iPads for 5th grade, new classroom SmartBoard projectors in nine classrooms, and streaming video content school-wide
  • Providing tools for learning: all supplies including paper, tables, umbrellas, books, and more
  • Delivering programs to enrich core curriculum: folk dancing, public speaking, Music Rhapsody, Walk through California, and more
  • Funding Young At Art, Grades of Green, and GrowingGreat
HAVEN'T JOINED YET? IT'S NEVER TOO LATE! We look forward to having you be a part of the PTA community! Even if you are unable to make a contribution at this time, please click to join the PTA for $15. We would love to hit 100% participation to lend strength in numbers to the National PTA that advocates on behalf of children across America. Thank you!
