REFRAIN FROM USING CELL PHONES WHILE VOLUNTEERING When parents interact with their phones in the classroom it is distracting to both students and teachers. This includes calls, texting, status updates, etc. Your time is valuable and we appreciate it when you choose to spend it helping at school. Please make it a quality experience by refraining from using your cell phone in the classroom. Thank you!
 

50th Annual Spring Fair 5/14

10AM-3PM - UPPER PLAYGROUND Featuring the fabulous talent show, tasty eats from local restaurants, game booths, inflatables, the YAA Gallery showcasing your child's artwork, and much more!

BOOK SALE BOOTH Drop off used children's and adult books in the Library hall, or in the collection boxes at the flag pole and at the Bell Avenue entrance. DVDs and CDs are accepted, but please no VHS tapes, encyclopedias, textbooks, or magazines. Questions? Email Rochelle Cistone.

NEW THIS YEAR The awesome Yoobi Arts & Crafts bus will be at our Fair. Yoobi sparks learning and creativity while also giving back -- for every Yoobi item you purchase, a Yoobi item is donated to a U.S. classroom in need.

MANHATTAN WINE AUCTION - SAT 6/11 - 4:30PM - MANHATTAN COUNTRY CLUB Tickets go on sale for the 22nd Annual Wine Auction on 5/2 at 9am at manhattanwineauction.com. The Wine Auction is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and raise money for our schools, while sampling local cuisine and wines from around the world. You'll also have the opportunity to bid on over 300 items in the Silent and Live Auctions! Gator Gratitude

PARENT PARTY HOSTS ROCK! Thank you to the Croft, Quigley, Abraham, and Hartman families for a crazy fun ping pong party fundraiser last weekend, and to the Bedner and Padnos families for this weekend's Karaoke house party. Parent-hosted events have become a cornerstone for fundraising at Grand View, and they allow the PTA to continue to fund important programs and materials that make our kids' education exceptional.

5th Grade Book Club 5/5

Minimum Days 5/31, 6/2, 6/3

FOR STUDENTS IN 1ST-5TH GRADE The school district has scheduled three minimum days for students in 1st-5th grade to enable teachers to conduct reading assessments. 1st-5th graders will attend school from 8:15am-12:40pm on 5/31, 6/2, and 6/3. Wednesday, 6/1, is a normal schedule, 8:15am-1:30pm.

NO CHANGE TO TK/K SCHEDULE TK and Kindergarten students will attend school normal hours that week.

AFTER SCHOOL SUPERVISION 5/31, 6/2, 6/3 MB/X is pleased to offer after school supervision on those days for 1st-5th graders. Students will bring a lunch and be supervised by the after school staff from 12:40-3:00pm. Details and sign-ups coming soon.
 

MB/X Symposium 5/19

FOR PARENTS & TEENS Keynote speaker: Eric Karros, former Dodger, current parent. Come hear Eric Karros and leading experts explore how to find a healthier balance between students' emotional well-being and their performance and satisfaction in sports, activities, and the classroom. A must-attend event for parents and teens alike from 7-9pm on 5/19 in the Mira Costa Multipurpose Room. FREE Register here.
 

Grades of Green Verte Gala 5/20

A VERY SPECIAL CELEBRATION Get ready for a fun night out that will help raise funds to instill environmental values in 300,000+ Grades of Green students! GREAT GATORS ARE GREAT READERS 3,254 books were checked out in April --that's 207 more than during the same time last year!
