Grades of Green Earth Day Essay Contest
TOPIC: WHY HYDRATION STATIONS ON CAMPUS ARE A GOOD IDEA Did you know that Americans annually use 50 billion plastic water bottles, but only 23% get recycled? Continuing our efforts to be one of the greenest schools in the country, GV has installed two hydration stations so everyone can more easily refill their reusable water bottles. One station is outside the cafeteria and the other is by the lower playground. To celebrate the new stations, students are invited to write an essay (450 words or fewer) explaining why they think they are a good idea. Turn in the essays to the front office by 4/19. The winner will receive a prize and the chance to read his or her essay over the loudspeaker on 4/22.
