PTA Membership Drive
WE'RE OFF TO A GREAT START FOR 2014-15!
Thanks to all who have donated! To keep it interesting, the FIRST class in each grade level to reach 100% membership will win a free ice cream party, and EVERY class with 100% membership earns a fun Pajama Day! Show your support online at gvpta.com
or pick up a form from the front office by 10/31. Current classroom stats.

WHY PROPERTY TAXES DON'T MAKE THE GRADE
A mere 20% of Manhattan Beach property taxes reach our local schools. Some communities access parcel taxes to make up for funding shortfalls. Not Manhattan Beach. Instead, we rely on your tax-deductible donations. Help us maintain our scholastic standards with an MBEF donation today
. Your gift makes all the difference.
Trash-Free Lunch Contest
TRACKING CALENDAR DUE MONDAY
Turn in your September trash-free lunch tracking calendar
to the office by 10/6 to be eligible to win dinner for four (up to $100) at Rock & Brews El Segundo. The student with the most trash-free lunches during September wins! Because many students have a TFL every day, in the event of a tie the winner will be determined by a drawing.
MORE CHANCES FOR MORE PRIZES
Please continue to pack trash-free lunches all year. Once a week, students who have trash-free lunches get raffle tickets for fun prizes! Questions? Call Melissa Bailey at 310-465-5647.
Picture Make-ups & Re-takes Tuesday
MAKE-UPS AND DO-OVERS
If your child missed picture day, there is a second chance on 10/7. There is no paperwork and no pre-payment is needed. If you would like a new picture taken on 10/7, please send the proof from the first one with your child. The new picture overwrites the first one so there is no going back if you decide you like the first one better. Questions? Contact Sandy Quigley
