Unique Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEER IN YOUR CHILD'S CLASSROOM Click here by 9/2 to express your interest in being a Room Parent. We also need docents for Young at Art, Grades of Green, and Growing Great. Final assignments will be announced by 9/10. Questions? Contact Jo Karambelas.

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL From October to May a council of teachers, staff, and parents led by Mrs. Steinberg meets to discuss school curriculum and budgetary matters. Click to learn more about being a SSC representative and to indicate interest. Applications due 9/18.

 

Trash-Free Lunch Contest

TRASH FREE, THAT'S ME! Start the new school year off right and pack a trash-free lunch EVERY day! Click for ways to pack trash-free lunches. The student who brings the highest number of trash-free lunches in September will win dinner for four at Rock & Brews-El Segundo. To reduce waste, the contest tracking form and prize details will not be sent home. Please download the form from the link to print at home.
 

Classroom Emergency Kits for 2015-16

ORDER ONLINE BY 9/15  Every student must have an emergency kit at school. EDP students need two kits: one for the classroom and one for the EDP room. Order online at moreprepared.com. Kits have a 5-year shelf life, so order only if you don't have yours from last year to send with your child. Kits will be delivered to your child's classroom in late September. Questions? Lost & Found

UNCLAIMED ITEMS CLEARED OUT ONCE A MONTH Please check the Lost & Found ASAP once an item has gone missing. Unclaimed articles will be bagged for donation on the last Friday of every month, beginning 9/25. The Lost & Found is located at the end of the Library hall, next to the Cafeteria.
 

Register for GAP Classes this Week

SOUND ARTS REGISTRATION OPENS 9/2 & FOR ALL OTHER CLASSES ON 9/3 GAP is an exciting way to enrich the school experience with classes in science, sports, chess, and the arts. Online registration at mbxfoundation.org opens at 9am on 9/2 for Sound Arts and at 9am on 9/3 for all other classes. For more info email Gina Marcarelli or call 310-415-6883. Classes begin the week of 9/28.
 

Gator Gratitude

BACK TO SCHOOL LUNCH Teachers and staff say thank you to GVPTA for providing lunch on the first day back. So thoughtful and so delicious! Special shout out to Hospitality Chairs Julie Tendoesschate and Sandie Weitz for hosting the lunch and the new parent coffee socials!
 

Calling All 5th Graders

Dogs at Grand View

NOT ALLOWED AT ANY TIME Please leave your dog at home when volunteering at school or when running an errand on campus. Do not tether dogs on or close to school grounds. Dogs are not allowed even when school is closed. Thank you for your help.
