JOIN US! 72% and Growing!

OUR PTA NUMBERS ARE INCREASING! 72% of our GV families have joined! It costs only $10 per parent to support the PTA. A donation of $150 per child is suggested, but donations at any level are appreciated!

The first class in each grade level to reach 100% membership will win an ice cream party, and every class with 100% membership earns a fun pajama day! Current classroom stats.

Pick up a form in the front office or join online at gvpta.com by 10/31. Thank you!

Skywatch Challenge Checklist Due Friday

RETURN VOLUNTEER CHECKLIST BY 10/17 More than 50% of our GV parents have returned the checklist. Thanks! The challenge is for every GV parent to volunteer at least once this year. Please print the form and return it by this Friday. Click for more info on how to win a stunning SKYWATCH timepiece.

MB Education Foundation

WHY PROPERTY TAXES DON'T MAKE THE GRADE A mere 20% of Manhattan Beach property taxes reach our local schools. Some communities access parcel taxes to make up for funding shortfalls. Not Manhattan Beach. Instead, we rely on your tax-deductible donations. Help us maintain our scholastic standards with an MBEF donation today. Your gift makes all the difference.

Gator Gratitude

HOMETOWN FAIR Thanks to all who helped at our booth and all who supported us with a sandwich purchase! Special thanks to Amanda & Don Paul, Dan Graham, and Andrea & Mike Zislis.

NEW: GV Monthly Parties!

CALLING ALL GATOR PARTY ANIMALS Some of the hottest auction items at the Parent Party were the hosted parties, so we've built on that success by offering a wide array of fun, community-building events throughout the year. Check out the October events --one for adults and one for families-- and follow the links to buy tickets. Space is limited! Don't miss out!

Run Club Logs 739 Miles

RUNNING ACROSS AMERICA With our collective 739 miles we have left California and are heading north, passing through Medford, Oregon. 3rd grade had the most runners last week with a tie between Mrs. Robertson and Ms. Miles for the highest number per class. Mrs. Slater's 4th graders had the most laps, 325. For more info go to gvpta.com/runclub.

In the Library

THIRD GRADE ASSIGNMENT Third graders have been assigned an online quiz to demonstrate they understand procedures well enough to use the library computers effectively. Questions? Email Mrs. Snively.

In the Science Lab

PLASTIC BOTTLES WANTED Empty, clean two-liter plastic bottles (with or without caps) are wanted for an experiment. Drop off in C-1 or the collection box in the PTA room.

Skechers Friendship Walk 10/26

WALK WITH THE GRAND VIEW TEAM! If you can't join us 10/26 please consider becoming a virtual walker. Register or donate with the GV Team. Questions? Email Kelli Spriggs.
