GRATITUDE PREVAILS! Please join us as we celebrate Gratitude at our first all-school Spirit and Character Assembly on Wed., 11/30, 9:45am, on the upper playground. There will be a student-led songfest, skits, awards, and more!
GRATITUDE FOR UNSUNG HEROES There are people in our lives who do so much for us, yet we often don't pause to honor them. People such as our custodians, cafeteria workers, classroom aides, office and support staff, groundskeepers, and crossing guards. Children's author Jarrett Krosoczka spoke on this topic at the recent TEDxMB event. View

GRATEFUL GATOR CHALLENGE Think of the unsung heroes in your life and let them know how their actions have impacted you.
Gratefully yours,

MUSIC:
AN INSTRUMENT FOR LEARNING Studies by the U.S. Department of Education show that music in school helps children learn math. It also helps them grasp scientific concepts faster and improves cognitive development. Over time, children with music programs in school demonstrate higher math and science proficiency by a significant margin. At Grand View, we are so lucky that our children are learning from the best: Katie Cavallaro (Strings), Tim Nail (Band), and Nona Watson (Choral). The strong foundation in music developed in elementary grades has led to our Grammy-winning program at Mira Costa. Investing in our Annual Appeal ensures that your child will have music in grades 1-12.

MCHS WINTER CONCERTS Treat yourself and your family to one (or more!) of these musical performances. You will be in the Costa Auditorium, but you will think you are in Carnegie Hall!
Orchestra 12/2,
Band 12/9,
Choir 12/16. Performances begin at 7pm.
