BRIGHTEN A CHILD'S HOLIDAY We have a list of needy children whose faces will light up when they receive that special gift for the holidays. If you are interested in purchasing a small gift (under $25) for one child please email
Anne Hellie or
Ellen Padnos. You'll be contacted this week with the name, gender, and gift idea. Gifts will be delivered after school on 12/14 to Menlo Avenue School in Los Angeles. Thank you for your generous Gator spirit!
Shoe Drive 12/4-12/16

A Very Special Performance 12/18
ONCE UPON A ROAD TRIP BY CASEY ROHRER Grand View is very lucky to have secured a special encore performance of the sold-out show
Once Upon a Road Trip on Sunday, December 18, 3pm, in the PAC. Written by Casey Rohrer, a local 14-year-old living with cerebral palsy, and co-written and directed by Angelo Michael Masino, the play chronicles one family's memorable trip to Yellowstone. Along with local actors, Casey performs in the play, speaking through his Tobii, an eye-tracking device. Ticket sales benefit a foundation that provides artistic experiences for special needs children. Click
here for the flyer and visit
familytheatreinc.com for more info.
Tickets go on sale Friday, 12/7, online.

A TIME FOR GIVING When you count your blessings this holiday season, consider among them the excellent education your child is receiving. Despite having one of the lowest state funding levels in the nation, Manhattan Beach has managed to remain one of the top school districts in the state because of community support. The generous support of parents like you helps us to fund programs that inspire learning, enrich teaching, and promote innovation and academic excellence in our public schools. What a blessing for our students.

In the Library
GREAT GATORS ARE GREAT READERS Wow! 4,063 books were checked out in November with picture books, graphic novels, and books in a series being the most popular sections. Thank you to GVPTA for supporting the growth of our collection so we always have the books kids want to read!

OVERDUE BOOKS A courtesy reminder of what your child has checked out is emailed every Sunday morning. Please open it to see what your child needs to return or renew. While our school library does not charge late fees, if a book is lost or damaged
please make arrangements to pay for it.
