Calling All Hoopster Parents

MB/X PARENTS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 12/7 Join the Grand View team at the annual MB/X Parents Basketball Tournament on Sunday, 12/7 in the Mira Costa Gym. The event starts at 11:30am and usually lasts 3-4 hours. There will be eight teams (MBUSD schools and American Martyrs). Each player pays $200 to participate, a tax deductible donation to MB/X Foundation. Got game? Contact Mike Smith.
 

Got Leaves? We Need Them!

DRIED LEAVES NEEDED FOR CAMPUS COMPOST Our lunchtime composting program is one of the best around. Leftover produce waste can be turned into valuable garden soil when dried leaves are mixed in with the scraps. Please drop your bagged dried leaves by the compost unit behind Room 18. To have your bagged leaves picked up from your home contact Robyn Murphy.
 

Children's Used Book Drive

TO BENEFIT CHILDREN IN NEED A Mira Costa student volunteer with the Reading Partners program at William Green Elementary in Lawndale is collecting gently used books suitable for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Drop off donations in the hallway by the library. Drive ends 12/12. Questions? Contact Heidi Snively.

Parents Night Out 12/12

MCHS DANCE CAMP 6-10PM Parents can enjoy a night out while their young dancer spends an evening with the award winning Mira Costa Dance Team. Kids (1st-5th graders only, please) will learn a dance and enjoy pizza, crafts, and a movie. Tickets are $45. 
 

Gator Gratitude

COOKIE SALE RAISES $160 FOR VFW The Cookies for Courage sale was a big success! The Student Council will use the money to supply turkeys over the holidays to soldiers' families in need.
 

Local Basketball Contest 12/20

ELKS LOCAL HOOP SHOOT AT RUHS Kids between the age of 8-13 are invited to participate in a FREE local hoop shoot contest at Redondo Union High School (small gym) on 12/20.

Registration starts at 8:45am. Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must be no younger than 8 or no older than 13 by April 1, 2015. Present a birth certificate or passport for proof of age.

Winners will advance to the District contest to be held 1/10/15 at the world famous Staples Center. Nationals will be held at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA.
