Drop-Off, Pick-Up, Parking, & Playground Procedures
SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY
Please read about our procedures at gvpta.com
. Make sure to share this information with your caregivers.
WALK TO SCHOOL, GATORS, OR USE LADERA!
Parking is limited; about 75% of the spots are reserved for staff. As a National Green Ribbon School we encourage our families to walk to school whenever possible. See suggested routes
. A brisk walk in the morning can enhance student learning and has overall health benefits. If you must drive, consider using the less-congested Ladera drop-off on Bell Avenue rather than the drop-off by the office.
NEW TK AND KINDERGARTEN DROP-OFF & PICK-UP PROCEDURES
All TK and Kindergarten students must be escorted to the classroom by their parent or caregiver every morning and must be picked up from the classroom by their parent or caregiver. We will no longer dismiss TK and K classes from the upper playground gate. Parking is limited so please walk whenever possible. If you must drive, consider parking on Bell Avenue and walking up the Ladera ramps.
THERE IS NO MORNING PLAYGROUND SUPERVISION
Playing on the fields or playgrounds in the morning is not allowed, even if the parent or caregiver is present. Students in 1st-5th grade must arrive no earlier than 8am and must sit at the cafeteria lunch benches until the 8:10am bell signals it's time to walk to class.
Especially for TK, Kinder, and All Parents New to Grand View
WARM WELCOME 8/29
Our PTA wishes to warmly welcome new parents to Grand View! Come to Room 23 for coffee after drop-off on the first day of school at 8:30am or 11:30am.
TK & K BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT 8/31
This Wednesday at 5:30pm TK and Kindergarten teachers will host their Back to School Night (no children, please).
All School Assembly 9/8
PROUD TO BE AMERICAN - WEAR RED, WHITE, AND BLUE
Save the date for our first all school assembly on 9/8 at 8:30am. Please walk to school if you can, then join us on the upper playground right after drop off. We will raise our American flag while remembering with pride the freedoms we enjoy. This small change will create a memorable space for students, parents, teachers, and staff to celebrate Grand View's learning community together. See you then, and remember to wear your red, white, and blue!
