DVDs Delivered this Week

2013-14 EVENT MEMORIES If you ordered a DVD of last year's Three Piggy Opera, Sound Arts Lewis & Clark, or Kinder/5th grade promotion it will be delivered by Friday. Families who no longer have a GV student are asked to pick up their DVD from the front office. Questions? Email Kristen Lukas.
 

Reflections Entries Due Friday 11/7

NATIONAL PTA CONTEST This year's Reflections theme is "The world would be a better place if..."  Students will receive a coupon for one free ice cream on Fun Friday for submitting an entry. See the flyer for more info or visit gvpta.com.
 

Blood Donors Needed Friday 11/7

P.E. Teachers are Back!

WE LOVE MS. WOOD! Physical education teachers are back at our elementary schools thanks to your MBEF donations. At Grand View, our credentialed and passionate P.E. teacher Monica Wood provides 100 minutes of P.E. to our Gators every week. Ms. Wood teaches sportsmanship, fosters teamwork, and inspires a love of exercise. Give today to MBEF to keep P.E. and other programs an integral part of our children's education.

Free Flu Shot Clinic 11/13

1-4PM IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICE MBUSD will host a free flu shot clinic presented by the Los Angeles County Public Health Department on Thursday, 11/13, from 1-4pm. Run Club Logs 1,996 Miles

RUNNING ACROSS AMERICA We have reached Stansbury Bay, Utah! 4th grade continues to have the most runners with 38%. Mrs. Slater's class continues to have the most laps with 273. Personal stats are available online. For general info go to gvpta.com/runclub.
 
PRIZES FROM IVIVVA 11/5 The cheer team from ivivva (a subsidiary of Lululemon) will be on hand Wednesday with some surprises for lucky Run Club participants!
 

TEDx Conference 11/15

GAME CHANGERS The 5th Annual TEDxManhattanBeach conference will be held from 9am-3pm on 11/15 at MBMS.

PLASTIC BOTTLES WANTED Empty, clean two-liter plastic bottles (with or without caps) are wanted for an experiment. Drop off in C-1 or the collection box in the PTA room.
 

In the Library

GREAT GATORS ARE GREAT READERS 5,093 books were checked out in October - that's 245 more than during the same time last year! Picture books and fiction continue to be the favorite sections overall. In nonfiction, books about the natural sciences and sports are popular.

TOP PATRONS FOR SEPTEMBER Congratulations to Jack Keating, Kyle Fukumoto, Miya Ostboe, Morgan Crosby, and Charlee Rainey who had the most checkouts in their grade level. Each will receive a gift certificate. For information about the library program visit grandviewlibrary.info.
