Picture Day 9/20

PROOFS SENT HOME BY 10/4 Class pictures will be taken outdoors with our school's beautiful landscaping as the backdrop. Picture proofs and order forms will be sent home with your child by 10/4. Family Fun & Movie Night 9/23

FUN UNDER THE STARS WITH ZOOTOPIA! Bring a blanket, LOW profile beach chairs, flashlights, refillable water bottles, and sweatshirts to this FUN family event on the lower playground beginning at 5:30pm. $20 per person includes the movie, a full dinner, and a Popsicle. Want Your Name on the Wall? Deadline Is 9/30

BE A GREATER GATOR BY 9/30! Don't know what a Greater Gator is? GGs are families who support our school and help our volunteers save precious time by signing up for multiple programs very early in the year. Through the GG page you can join the PTA, pay your room parents for classroom funds, buy your yearbooks, and donate to MBEF.

WE CAN'T THANK OUR GREATER GATORS ENOUGH But we will recognize your generosity with an exclusive travel coffee mug, and your family name and year will be painted on the new Greater Gator wall on the upper playground. Name already on the wall? We'll add the current year to ensure your continuous support is recognized!

PTA Meeting Recap

FROM PTA PRESIDENT HEATHER DE ROOS A big thank you to those who attended the first PTA meeting of the year on 9/15. Principal Nancy Doyle spoke about upcoming character assemblies, and described a new safety committee which is forming. Email Mrs. Doyle to participate in this new committee. Program chairs (Young At Art, Grades of Green, etc.) listed highlights of what is planned for our kids this year.

TREASURER'S REPORT Treasurer Keri Herczeg gave an overview of our budget and program expenses for the 2016-17. We learned that 77% of our PTA funds come from your PTA membership donations and the Parent Party, so remember to become a Greater Gator by 9/30 and buy your Parent Party tickets today.

MBEF REPORT Did you know Manhattan Beach is the lowest-funded district in LA County and the 4th lowest-funded in California? This is why your MBEF donations are critical to our district. MBEF Director Farnaz Flechner shared eye-opening information about how education funding gets allocated in our state.

Manhattan Beach 10K 10/1

REGISTER TODAY! The 39th Annual Manhattan Beach 10K Run is October 1st! The run begins at 7:30am and finishes at the iconic MB Pier. There will be fantastic bands along the scenic course, a post-race Expo, and a souvenir shirt. This is a volunteer-organized non-profit event with proceeds benefiting community fitness-related causes and scholarships... over $560,000 donated to date! Click to register.
