Its National Forest Forest Week in Canada September 18-25, 2016
National Forest Week is a time to celebrate Canada’s forests and forest communities. The theme this year is True North, Strong and Green. Many community forests will be taking part in forest education and celebration activities. Please be sure to send us your stories and photos of the events in your community for posting on the BCCFA website and newsletter!
The Rural Dividend Funding Available
The Rural Dividend program will have a new intake October 3 – 31st, and they have a new Program Guide link to the guide
This program is an excellent opportunity for community forests to take the lead on partnering in their community to reinvigorate and diversify their local economies. Categories of fundable activities are broad and include building new trails, training and education for locally based jobs and business sector development. FPInnovations has stepped up to support community forest s to lead or partner on projects, to source leveraged funding and to assist local implementation. read more from FP Innovations

Summer Student for Community Forests Opportunity!!!!
The UBC Faculty of Forestry has confirmed funding for four undergraduate students to be placed at two community forests for the summer months in 2017 .The purpose of the gift is to support employment opportunities for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Forestry, and to support community forestry.
