Seven Up - new generation BERNINA machines hit UK market

BERNINA has introduced three new models to its 7-series range each with a new hook system and user interface.

As with other 7 Series models, the new machines deliver cutting-edge technologysuperior stitch quality at up to 1,000 stitches per minute and 254mm (10”) of space to the right of the needle. The updated BERNINA Hook System offers 9mm stitch width on the 770QE and 790 machines or 5.5 mm width on the 720 machine which is optimised for the precision sewing of fine fabrics. The machines also feature an intuitive user interface with on-screen help, innovative functions like BERNINA Adaptive Thread Tension for the finest stitch quality on both sides of the fabric, and an increased selection of stitches and embroidery designs. The 790 also includes a new on-screen stitch designer and shape designer for embroidery. The next generation 7 Series machines are available at authorised BERNINA Dealers around the UK. Get crafty with your little ones with BERNINA

If you find your children or grandchildren are at a loose end during the school holidays, you can always do as our BERNINA blogger, Hilary Gooding did, and organise a few crafty things for them to do.  These are t-shirts with motifs chosen and designed by her grandchildren.  She asked them to draw the outlines in black felt pen on paper which she then scanned and digitised in the Bernina software.  Hilary stitched out the outlines in black thread.  They then coloured in the motifs using fabric felt pens. Bernina extends your reach with new Long Arm machine
