Bernina's new embroidery software – DesignerPlus Version 7 – can help users unleash their creativity through new three-dimensional features like PunchWork, StumpWork, Trapunto and Raised Satin. The new DesignerPlus Embroidery Software 7 includes a range of 3D effects to create distinctive surface embellishments.

The EditorPlus Embroidery Software 7 has a new fresh look, an improved on screen manual, easy to identify large flat icons and an easy to switch measurement system. The software offers simple editing and extensive lettering options. A new colour picker tool and palette and new colour cycle tool means designs can be quickly previewed in alternate colours with the powerful Colour Wheel. A new and improved auto-digitising tool with a quick trace option for Bitmap images means motifs can be fine-tuned with the various editing features included within the software.

Philippa scores international success


Big congratulations to one of the UK's leading quilters and Bernina user Philippa Naylor who has scooped 1st prize in the 'Wearable Arts' category at the Festival of Quilts 2103 at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas.

Made entirely on a Bernina, Philippa’s 'Scarlett's Crimson' dress is made from heavy cotton sateen (over seven metres of red and two of white). The dress has a fitted boned bodice with contrasting piped trim, self-fabric belt and a one and a half circle skirt with applique and machine quilted hem. The bolero style jacket has contrasting piped trim, full circle cut sleeves and free-motion machine quilted body.

The dress is now on tour for 2014 in America at various International Quilt Association shows.
