FACES Ministry chosen as Exemplary Service Organization
For the second time, FACES has been honored by the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion as a pioneer and exemplary organization in the eradication of child labor in Ecuador. As a symbol of that recognition we were invited to be featured in various events organized by the government as active participants in the International Day Against Child Labor:
Children from our ministry were interviewed at our ministry complex for a piece about child labor to be aired on national television on June 12, 2018.
23 children from the FACES Ministry traveled all expenses paid to Tena to appear with Ecuadorian President, Lenín Moreno, in support of the complete eradication of child labor in Ecuador. The highlight of the event was the signing of a PACT by major Ecuadorian companies to verify that their products have not been produced through the use of child labor. Two of our children were allowed to step forward as representatives of child workers to urge the president to actively enforce the current child code and labor laws in favor of the protection of children’s rights.
The kids had a great time eating out and enjoying a field trip to Napo in the jungle area of Ecuador.
We give all the glory to God for placing great favor on the FACES Ministry and allowing us to be recognized nationally. We pray this will give us more opportunities to continue to fight and win the battle against child labor in Ecuador and sow seeds of love and hope in Jesus’ name.
International Day Against Child Labor Events 2018
For thirteen consecutive years the ministry has hosted and organized events to call attention to the problem of child labor. Once again, this year, FACES played a major role in the International Day Against Child Labor events in our region of Ecuador.
FACES administrater Fabian Valle featured on local radio show doing consciousness raising on the subject of child labor.
FACES, in conjunction with the local Council for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, sponsored a Forum Against Child Labor featuring the dancing talents of our ministry kids.
Our staff set up our informational/entertainment tents in Latacunga as a part of the International Day Against Child Labor community awareness events.

Our high school for working youth had a great time with Fernando Marquez of Cross International on their recent site visit in Ecuador.
Fernando poses with our fearless school director and woman of God, Rocio Chugá.
We give glory to God for our partnership with Cross International which has enabled us to have an excellent teaching staff at our school.
