FatC Newsletter #5
Hi folks,
Keeping this one super short and sweet, as otherwise I do bang on at extremely intense length and verbosity and by the time you've finished any given paragraph - if you do indeed get that far - you've probably forgotten whatever it was I was on about in the first place; even if you haven't I certainly have and... see, there I go again.
Right.
Keeping this one super short and sweet. Not repeating myself. Not repeating myself.
It's high time there was a full band Fit and the Conniptions gig, so we're playing at The Good Ship In Kilburn (again) next Thursday 11th October. Doors are at 7.30pm, they'll charge you the tiniest of tiny fivers, and the rest of the lineup looks lush. so please do come if you are around and can make it. The Facebook invite is
here, for those of you who do Facebook, and you are invited either way. Details are also on the Gigs page of the conniptions.org website.
Londoners of a more Southerly persuasion will be glad to know that we are booked to play at The Green Dragon, Croydon on Saturday 20th October as part of Croydon Oxjam. That'll be more of a daytime thing - times yet to be confirmed but keep an eye out on Facebook and the usual listings places for details there.
Finally, there's a bunch of new Fit and the Conniptions videos on YouTube which I'm really excited about. Completely out of the blue, the very excellent Matthias Wilkes, aka Dragonslayer0101, has used Minecraft to create videos for four of the tunes from Sweet Sister Starlight, as part of his ongoing series of Minecraft videos. If you don't know what Minecraft is, it's basically the most addictive computer game ever created, which is why I am not allowed to play it any more. But I really really like the videos, and I think you will like them also.
Here they are:
Wood For The Trees - running around the Minecraft world chopping down trees
Spider Song - the Minecraft world has spiders in it
Turnaround - what *is* he building in there? This is probably my favourite of them all.
Sweet Sister Starlight - this one starts a bit slowly but watch it to the end...
That's it.
Love,
Wayne
