LGBT Leadership Programme
November - December 2018
The deadline to apply for the Leadership Programme is 26th October 2018.
‘The value of this course is that it is LGBT specific – it was helpful because I was able to connect with other LGBT people, and a result of sharing experiences I better understood how leadership can be used to create positive change and enable inclusion’ (Programme Graduate, Mar 2018)
Birmingham LGBT has created a unique Leadership Programme to develop LGBT leaders of the future equipped with essential leadership skills, with the confidence to facilitate the growth of resilient, diverse organisations and communities.
A key aim of the Leadership Programme is to enable LGBT individuals and allies to become empowered to be decision makers, in supporting their organisations and workforces to achieve greater equality, inclusiveness and diversity.
The programme provides structured learning in three stages designed to enable trainees to focus on their personal and professional development whilst learning key leadership tools and techniques to utilise and implement in their workplace. Discussion and reflection exploring how sexual identity impacts and shapes life choices and career development is built into each stage. The LGBT Leadership Programme is nationally endorsed through the Institute of Leadership & Management (www.i-l-m.com).
The course will be delivered over a total of five (5) days as follows:
Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th November 2018
Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th November 2018
Wednesday 12th December 2018

‘This course made me think differently about my leadership and management style and helped me to understand the positive ways that being LGBT has influenced the way I work. The tools and techniques explored in the course resonated with me and have helped me to make valuable changes to the way I work’ (Programme Graduate, Dec 2016)
