Refer a Friend

CRC will be starting a new Refer a Friend program!!
If you refer a friend in for a repair we will mail you a $20 Visa Card!!

There are a couple of stipulations though
  • The friend being referred can not be a current client
  • The friend must have service work done at the time they bring in their computer for repair
  • The most obvious one the new client must give us the name of the person who referred them so we can mail a Visa card to them!
Hi <<First Name>>,
I would like to thank you all for our success at Computer Resource Center, without you we wouldn't be where we are at now. I would like to encourage you to simply go to Google, YahooYelp, FourSquare or any review site and rate your experience with us. This helps others find out about us so we can continue to offer Rochester and the surrounding area great customer service with their computer needs.

Apple is reportedly going to allow AirPlay 2 to be enabled on Smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony and Vizio. There's even talk that iTunes will be coming to select Smart TVs also.

MacRumors has more on this and also a list of the Smart TVs that will be AirPlay 2 compatible. You can find that here

With the new year already starting 9to5Mac has put together a 2018 Year in Review for Everything Apple. With the release of iOS 11.2.2 in January to the release of iOS 12.1.2 in December.

You can find that list here

If you opened up your instagram a couple of weeks ago and had to swipe left or right instead of scrolling down you weren't alone. Instagram is testing a stories like timeline where you swipe left or right instead of scrolling up or down. The reviews of it are less than stellar. Good news is that by now you've forced quit the program and got it back to the way it was.

9to5Mac has more on that here
SplashData published the most commonly used passwords on 2018. It seems that '123456' and 'Password' remain the worst passwords being used.

If you're curious as to what the other passwords on the list are then MacRumors has them here
Apple Repair Extension Programs
Apple currently has two Repair Extension Programs for the Apple 13" MacBook Pro (non touch bar) laptop.

They have a battery replacement program and if you put your laptop's serial number in it they will tell you if it is eligible for a replacement top case. That can be found

Also some models may have an SSD issue and if you would like to check and see if your laptop qualifies you can find that here

Lastly, they do have a Keyboard Service Program.

This program covers letters and characters that are repeating, letters or characters that do not appear and keys that feel sticky or do not feel consistent. You can find that link

If you visit the links and feel that your MacBook Pro qualifies for any of these programs feel free to give us a call at 507-529-9600. In some instances we may have to run diagnostics on the laptop before we are able to order the parts.
