2015 Year in Review!!!

2015 has been a great year for the Placer County Democratic Party. We have made huge strides in representing Democrats throughout our county. From re-establishing the Placer County Young Democrats to beginning the process of creating a Veterans Group, the PCDP is here to represent all. Below you will find some highlights of the successful things the party and our clubs have accomplished:
  • The PCDP hosted both Bill Camp, former Executive Director of the Sacramento Central Labor Council, and Controller Betty Yee, at our 2015 Roosevelt Kennedy Dinner.
  • The PCDP Voter Outreach Committee had numerous success's this year including registering over 485 new Democrats through the Election Office High School Outreach Program this past fall, as well as tabling at the Loomis Eggplant Festival and Mountain Mandarin Festival which we had not tabled at in a number of years. For a complete recap of everything the Voter Outreach Committee has done, please visit our website HERE written by Tomas Vera, chair of the Voter Outreach Committee.
  • This year the PCDP created a Legislative Committee which worked hard to look over the bills going through the California Legislature. The Committee took on 5 bills for review and all of which were endorsed by the PCDP and eventually signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown. For details about the committee and which bills they reviewed, please visit our website HERE for a review written by Parry Lustgarten, Vice Chair of the Legislative Committee.
  • We also partnered with other organizations to make 2015 a very impactful year. In Nov 2015, PCDP supported Keep it California at the Placer County Board of Supervisors Meeting to show Placer wants nothing to do with the State of Jefferson. Members from the Central Committee began working with the Sierra Nevada Opportunity Political Action Committee (SNOPAC) to develop a plan to help elect Democrats to local offices.
