Results for SCSF skaters at the 2017 U.S. Figure Skating Championships-

Anthony Ponomarenko and partner Christina Carreira of SCNY for Junior Dance: Short Dance- 3rd place; Free Dance- 2nd place for Final of 2nd place. Congratulations to Anthony and Christina, the Junior Dance Silver medalists!

Dinh Tran for Novice Men: Short Program- 3rd place; Free Skate 3rd place. Congratulations to Dinh Tran, the Novice Men's Bronze medalist!

Nickolay Usanov and partner Molly Cesanek of Washington FSC for Novice Dance: Pattern Dance 1- 5th place; Pattern Dance 2- 9th place; Free Dance- 6th place for Final of 7th place.

On Saturday January 28 and February 4, Club session times will start at 7:00am and end at 8:30 am. You can sign up for sessions at 7:00 am, 7:30am, and 8:00 am on those dates.

The Club will host its 85th Anniversary Gala celebrating our Club and Bay Area skaters at Yerba Buena the evening of Saturday April 1st. Attention SCSF Adult Skaters! SCSF is holding a critique of programs for SCSF Home club adults attending the adult sectionals in Burbank (March 10-12, 2017) and/or adult nationals in Wake Forest, North Carolina (April 18-22) at YBISC during Club ice on February 18. The performance portion of this event will be held from 7:15 to 7:45 AM, and this session is free for SCSF Home club adults. There will be no charge for the critique from Club officials, which will include a modified IJS protocol for those skaters with IJS programs. The critiques will take place after the event during a no host brunch get together.

Apply to the The Pioneer Fund!
The Pioneer Fund established a college scholarship program in 2010 to assist eligible current and former amateur and professional ice skaters who dedicated their lives to skating and now wish to pursue a college education. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time undergraduate study at an accredited institution of the student's choice. Eligible individuals are skaters who have competed at least once in a U.S. Figure Skating qualifying competition at the novice level or higher in either a Men's, Ladies, Dance or Pairs event.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin. A total of $240,000 in scholarship will be awarded ranging from $4,000 to $8,000 per scholarship recipient and scholarship awards will be announced in June, 2017.

Applications are open now and the deadline to apply is February 17, 2017.
