Life after album launch
Hello folks, it has been quite an eventful time since our last newsletter!
We had the launch of our début album,
Little Copper Still, which was a heart-warming success - thank you so much everyone who came along, packed the venue, bought our album, and helped make it such a fantastic day.

The album has already been getting a great response. Q Magazine gave it 4 stars (
*a singer who can break hearts and mend them in an instant"), Loud and Quiet Magazine gave it 5 stars (
"Rough-edged, whisky-fuelled, foot-stomping majesty"), Fatea Magazine think "the next generation of sound is here and at its forefront are The Cedars" and Americana-UK said it is
"one of the most damn enjoyable records of the year so far".
Little Copper Still is now available on the
Clubhouse shop,
iTunes,
Amazon, and other online and offline stores.
Malawi Mouse Boys show
Fresh off
Maverick Festival and a host of other shows we are back in London to play a special duo set next week with the Malawi Mouse Boys,
The Cedars play duo set with Malawi Mouse Boys
Thursday 25th July – The Boogaloo
Ian Brennan, the producer of our album
Little Copper Still, brings the Malawi Mouse Boys to the UK to play Womad, and we’ve been asked to perform a duo set (which is now rather rare for us!) at The Boogaloo in Highgate as a warm up show.
They are called the Malawi Mouse Boys because they mostly make a living selling barbecued mice-on-a-stick to passing travellers in Malawi. In between they play gospel music on guitars and percussion handmade from scraps of wood and metal.
These guys are amazing and well worth seeing, and may be a once in a lifetime thing, unless you plan to go to Malawi anytime soon!

"This legendary group of young Malawi villagers have been playing music together and writing songs since they were children. A collection of rootsy and authentic songs of faith and love, reminiscent of the rural, southern sounds of mid-20th century American gospel music.”
“Thrilling mix of raw vocal harmonies, rattling home-made guitars and handclaps. The hope and optimism exuding from every note breaks your heart” THE INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY– 4-stars album review
