Calling all DFAers! The DFA Fall Kickoff brings the network together to unite efforts and plan ahead for the most impactful year possible.

This two-day weekend will bring you small-group design and leadership training, network opportunities with students and alumni, and an equity-centered workshop to build capacity and prepare you for responsible community engagement.

This mini-conference is for DFA students either in a Leadership role or with interest in growing leadership skills: Studio Leads, Exec Boards, Team Leads, and passionate or motivated members (aka, you!). Whether you're an alumni student, or fan -- pass it along, sign up, and see you soon!

Beyond Community Engagement
Saturday, 12:30-2:00pm CST

You'll work on a set of activities to advance your work towards mutually beneficial exchanges and relationships and equip you with tools and activities that you can bring back to your studios.

Reframing Failure in Design
Sunday, 12:30-1:20pm CST

Failure is an essential part of the design process, and yet students often learn that failure in design should be avoided at all costs. But what exactly is failure and how can it help you during design work?

Creating Equitable Partnerships
Sunday, 12:30-1:20pm CST

Together we'll resource-share tools to scale project scopes, set expectations and goals with partners, and organize your team to tackle any design challenge or project. We'll also reflect on and workshop your own projects/partnerships for the upcoming term with other studio leads using the activities and tools provided.

Building Relationships
Sunday, 1:30-2:20 CST

The past year and a half has really tested all of our relationships. That's why we are bringing together a panel of knowledgeable DFA Mentors to help our network consider new ways to reconnect with the people in our communities who are here to help.
Team Dynamics
Sunday, 1:30-2:20 CST

Teaming is co-creating the way you want to work together. During this workshop, you’ll learn how to set a strong foundation anytime you work with a team and create a teaming game plan to take back to your studio.
