Hi <<First Name>>,
What happens when DFAers from across the Network unite efforts and plan ahead for the most impactful year possible? This last weekend, over 40 DFA Studio leads, members, and mentors joined together for Fall Kickoff.
The two-day virtual event included a keynote from Director of Design Thinking at Elon University, Dr. Danielle Lake. She reminded us of the importance of empathy and humility in relational co-design, topics that too often fall away in both academic and corporate design settings. “Systems are the products of design, they can be redesigned,” said Dr. Lake, encouraging students to work at the pace of trust, and reminding them that continually nurturing relationships is the keystone to impactful, responsible design.
She set the tone for the rest of the conference, featuring work from The New School, DFA Alumni Dr. Carlye Lauff, a DFA Mentor panel and Microsoft UX Designers.
