Communications Survey Results: Chapter News, Events and Info on PRSA Benefits are Key Takeaways


Results are in from last month’s PRSAColo Communications Survey. Nearly 15 percent of members responded, which is about average for this type of survey. The survey focused on questions concerning the weekly enewsletter, the kinds of information most valued by members and which social media channels members prefer. Among the takeaways:

  • Members value chapter news and information about upcoming events, and they appreciate feature stories about members and information about PRSA benefits and resources.
  • Members are engaged with our social media channels — Facebook, Facebook Member Group and Twitter lead the pack — and value the information they receive on social media about the PR and marketing industries and upcoming events.
  • Members value this enewsletter, and while they consider it a top resource for information, there is a slight preference for receiving the enewsletter in email boxes once every other week instead of weekly.

A Valentine for A New Member: Show Some Love at Upcoming Events

PRSA Colorado is one of the largest chapters in the country, which can be daunting to new members who are trying to network, connect and engage during events.
During this month of love, the Membership Committee would like to remind our long-standing members to share a little love and help welcome new members to the Chapter.
If you see a new face at a PRSA Colorado event, smile and say hello! Invite new members to your table. Ask them how long they’ve been a member, and share some of your background in the organization, in PR, in Colorado. Do you know someone in their industry they should meet? Introduce them, and then follow up by email.
It’s that easy to help make our new members feel welcome.

Employee Communications Roundtable: Networking and Sharing, Feb. 22


The Employee Communications Roundtable is off and running at Molson Coors in Denver on Thursday morning, Feb. 22.

The PRSA Colorado Chapter’s Special Awards program provides an opportunity to recognize the outstanding pro­fessionals in our field. The nomination process is free and winners are honored at the annual Gold Pick Awards event.
Chapter members can nominate colleagues for special awards in the following categories:

  •        Business Person of the Year

Shadow Day: Give a PR Pro-in-Training a Seat at Your Table, March 7

Do you have an exciting, fulfilling career in public relations? Share your knowledge and passion for the profession with the next generation of pros at Shadow Day, Wednesday, March 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It's your opportunity to demonstrate to students who are interested in pursuing a career in public relations, the types of challenges you face every day in our exciting profession.

Your day can include interdepartmental meetings, interviews with local media, a tour of a Denver television or radio station, or simply spending some time explaining how things come together for clients or company projects. It's completely up to you how you plan Shadow Day with your student,

Leadership Session

The Leadership Development Program is an affordably priced, valuable opportunity for PR professionals to gain specific leadership skills from some of the best trainers in the country. Led by Golin SVP Matt West and a panel of PR leaders, the session will focus on different leadership characteristics and how those characteristics can help you succeed in our profession. The pre-conference session will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11.
