Western District Final Weeks to Register



Don’t miss your chance to attend the 2018 Western District Conference on April 12-13! 
 
Join colleagues for a two-day conference packed with nationally and internationally renowned speakers, including keynote speakers Shonali Burke and Peter Shankman.
 
  • Shonali Burke, ABC is an accredited, award-winning social PR strategist, teacher and trainer with more than two decades of experience in social PR consulting. She is a frequent speaker at local, national and international conferences, and will give the opening keynote speech.
  • Peter Shankman is an author, entrepreneur and corporate keynote speaker. This “worldwide connector” is globally recognized for radically changing the ways we think about customer service, social media, PR, marketing, advertising and ADHD. Peter will keynote the luncheon.
 
                
 
 
Sign up for pre-conference programs and attend sessions on PR trends and emerging technologies, branding, diversity, media relations, community engagement and leadership. Participate in discussions on reputation management and impacts on cannabis, as well as discussions on crisis management and how to advise the C-suite.

Get Motivated to Get Your APR: Western District APR Boot Camp, a Half-Day Workshop. Sign up by March 30


Planning to get your APR?  Need some hands-on preparation?  Participate in the pre-conference Western District APR Boot Camp, a Half-Day Workshop from 8 a.m. to noon on April 11 at the Oxford Hotel during the 2018 Western District Conference in Denver.

Mike Daily, APR — who is a board member and APR Committee Chair for the San Diego/Imperial County Chapter and a former Marine Corps Public Affairs Officer — will lead a workshop that touches all the elements that comprise APR accreditation, including PR models and theory, ethics and law, and PR research, planning, implementation and evaluation. In addition, Mike will go over the APR Panel Presentation and sample types of questions expected from the APR Exam.

As a skilled PR professional, you know your success is dependent on staying relevant, resourceful and inspired. The Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) sets you apart and proves that you have the know-how to take your career to its fullest potential.

Western District Ski Trip: Post-conference Fun. Sign-up by March 30

 

Take advantage of the long ski season in Colorado with a few days on the slopes after the PRSA Western District Conference. Discounted packages are available for Breckenridge and Beaver Creek (Osprey and Pines Lodges) from April 13 to 15. All reservations must be made by March 30.

Young Pros Getting Ready for Spring

 
The Young Pros are celebrating spring with a baseball-themed communications event in April. The event will kick off with a brief discussion and Q&A on sports marketing and PR with communications experts in the baseball industry followed by a Colorado Rockies home game at Coors Field.
