Graduate Update
I have always been drawn to the skincare/spa industry because of a lifetime of acne. Having grown up with bad skin, I personally knew the headache and embarrassment caused from classmates making fun of me because of my skin. I have always thought of how special it would be to help others who suffered from acne. I decided to attend the Institute of Aesthetic Arts and Sciences after I moved to CT in l996. I absolutely fell in love with it and wished that I had pursued the field 20 years earlier.
After graduating from the Institute of Aesthetic Arts and Sciences, I worked in Westport at Dream Spa. We were transferred back to Atlanta, and after a couple months of unpacking boxes, and getting settled received a phone call from Barbara Salamone, owner of Bioelements. I had been referred to her from a friend. After a phone conversation and then going to Chicago for a face to face meeting, I was offered the position of National Educator.

I feel that I got a superior education in skin care from The Institute of Aesthetic Arts and Sciences. I am grateful for that and know that Kathy really cares about the quality of education that she and her staff provide.

Visits From Grads

Reba Gaines who graduated in 2002 drops by often as she only works a couple of buildings away from I.A.A.S. at Adam Brodrick' s Southbury Salon.  She is an excellent aesthetician with a large following.  She has represented the school well and set a high standard for all who follow her.  Lorie and Kathy always enjoy a visit from Reba.

Another visitor………..Amira Santamaria got a hug from Julie for getting a 93 on her final exam.  Amira worked as a massage therapist while attending school nights plus taking care of her husband and two teenage boys.  Hard work pays off.  Three cheers for Amira!!! A job well done.  We are all proud of you!
The 4th of July is one of the most celebrated and anticipated holidays. It's always filled with lots of good food, friends and plenty of fireworks.

The whole team at I.A.A.S. wish you and your family a safe and fun-filled holiday!

P.S. Don't forget the sunblock!
