Developing Disciples: A 3DM Lesson About Maturing through Invitation and Challenge

“We are following Jesus and sharing His love by praying, serving and encouraging all people so they may be in a closer relationship with God.”

This is a new article from your church, here at Carrollton First UMC. This article is designed to take you on a journey. Its intent is to help you learn more about our approach to doing discipleship and developing a healthy congregation. Our goal is that you will discover more about who we are as a church and who you are as a child of God within this church family.

Each month we will have an in worship teaching on one of our discipleship principles pulled from 3 Dimensional Ministries (3DM) or other discipling connections. This letter will strive to serve as a fuller explanation of those teachings and how they connect and apply to our church and life.

While everyone learns differently, many have testified that the shape illustrations that 3DM offers are helpful tools for learning and teaching key faith concepts. That said, the point is not to get stuck on the shapes but recognize this as a device for defining and presenting elements of our faith.

About a month ago we sent out a primer article that taught the Learning Circle (as pictured below). The focus of this shape is to help us process our Kairos moments and all the things God is doing to try to get our attention and speak to us. This is a powerful tool to help us hear and discern God’s call. You may also be familiar with the three questions.
