Checking out the photos
. . .  for this week's issue of "matters," it is so inspiring to see the most magnificent produce - and other products, of course - at the Hingham Farmers Market. The above eggplant is from Second Nature Farm; don't they just scream "aubergine!"
     Our friends from Master Gardeners will visit the CS&E tent on Saturday. Stop by and say hello to the people who can answer any and all gardening questions.

Riverside Gardens will make its last appearance of the 2016 season and proprietor Gregg Brasso is offering 30 to 40 percent off all plants, including rosemary, lavender and succulents.

Opening the Market
     Teaming up to open the September 3 market were Emily Blair of Alex's Ugly
     Sauce and Celeste Croxton-Tate of Lyndigo Spice. Saturday's market
     brought out lots of market-goers enjoying the holiday weekend - in fact, scoring
     the second highest attendance in 2016.
Market Seen
     Shopping bags at the ready: Louise Pascale of Cambridge with her granddaughter,
     Emme Soules, (3) of Cohasset; a first for Cecelia Osorio of Pain D'Avignon -                   every item brought to the market sold - the photographer bought the lone
     goodie at the top of the case; Dan Durkee, music man, entertaining.
Bountiful Blessings
     Corn from Freitas Farm at the beginning of the market and inset, at 1:30 p.m.;
     beautiful broccoli, shaillots and red peppers from Second Nature Farm - how
     lucky we are.
