This Week at the HFM
Saturday is Hingham Farmers Market Day in Hingham! Celebrating our 40th year, and as proclaimed by the Hingham Board of Selectmen we're joining thousands of other farmers' markets across the country marking the growing power and popularity of putting local food on our tables. Selectman Paul Gannon will read the proclamation at 10am.
Come early and grab a balloon for your kids (or yourself) and buy plenty of raffle tickets for the drawing at 2pm. The grand prize, won by Mary Francis Barry (pictured above with HFM Friend Bev Vernon) of Hingham last year, is $125 worth of "Billy Bucks" usable for anything sold at the Market.

Tickets are $1/one, $5/six, $10/twelve. Funds raised by the annual raffle are used to underwrite costs incurred by the HFM and help keep vendor fees low.
Local Peaches - Not this year.
Pretty much the entire Northeast peach crop was wiped out due to the spell of warm weather in February which was followed by a severe cold snap.

Opening the Market
Charlie Sayer of  River Rock Farm in Brimfield rang the bell to open the July 30 market, and the 2nd Nature Farm  crew (L-R: Suzanne Tringali, Amelia Bronder-Giroux, Megan Tedeschi, Chas Jette, Nicole Vetiac) did it last Saturday. Both of these fine vendors bring great locally raised and grown products to the HFM every week. The queues at their tents attest to their popularity
It's high produce season at the HFM, and all of our farmers have lots of it to share. Come see us at The Beach!
Market Seen
A star is born at at the Hingham Farmers Market. Alexander Yi from Hull returned July 30 and played and sang thanks to the generosity of Kenny Black, our musician of the day.. It's Kenny€'s guitar. Safe to say he was impressed - €œAlexander's  got something going on€! And to think it all started at the HFM a couple of years ago (see inset)....

Ethan Wang (5) (Norwell) with his grandfather Gangming Wang from China are going to enjoy lobsters from C&C Seafood. They visited the market on July 30th.
