Meet Pablo on Saturday
Master Gardeners June 11

This Saturday the HFM is happy to welcome Pablo, one of the two dogs who make up the Hingham Police K-9 Unit. (Pablo's companion is Pedy.) Pablo and his handler will be available to "meet and greet" HFM market-goers and familiarize people with the workings and responsi-bilities of the unit. This is a special visit!
Many people may not be aware that the K-9 Unit is operated solely on donations from the general public. Come meet Pablo, make a donation - or better yet, buy a tee-shirt to support this important program of the Hingham Police Department.
FYI: June 4 is also the annual "Touch a Boat" special. Taking place at the Iron Horse - "Victory" - statue at the Harbor, visit the HFM and touch a boat, all on the same day!
     Next Saturday, June 11, the
Master Gardeners will return for their June visit. At this time, people most likely have planted their gardens; this is a perfect time to ask the experts any and all of your early gardening questions.
Photo above: Pablo, the black lab, is one of the two narcotic-detection dogs from the Hingham Police K-9 Unit. The other is Pedy, in photo above at bottom right. Come meet Pablo this Saturday at The Beach!

Opening the Market
Carlie Cacciatore and Carley Dunfy - proprietors of Blendah Babes -
rang the bell to signal the start of the May 28 market. Although the menu shown
below is difficult to read, some of the smoothies they offer: "Lean Green
Pineapple Queen," "Mocha-Choco-Lattah," "Mango Broke My Heart," and "Straw-
berry Fields Forever" (the last two also available in special kids' sizes).

Featuring . . .
Our prediction in last week's hfmarketmatters that the growing season would
soon explode seemed to come true at the May 28 market. More beautiful
