Elms Tennis Club Monthly Newsletter
Dear Club Member

Welcome to the October 2020 Newsletter.

We've sadly come to the end of what has turned out to be a fabulous summer season, despite the difficult circumstances.  It's now time to look forward to the opportunity of playing on the hard courts for the Winter season and for the winter maintenance program to begin on the grass courts.  We'd like to thank you all for helping to create a safe and enjoyable environment where we saw lots of new faces on the courts.

For your diary - We are planning to hold our AGM on 4 November 7pm. Key focus at the AGM would be to approve the accounts, appointment of committee members and agree membership fees. If there are specific items you would like to raise at the AGM please let us know by email. The AGM is most likely to be held on Zoom.

If you have any concerns, would like to give feedback (good or bad!) or you can think of any other items which may be of interest to the Members, please email info@elmstennis.co.uk.
Winter Club Sessions

Everyone is welcome to join our winter club sessions.  For club sessions you pair with players who are there to play sets, please ensure that you include players who might be waiting by rotating play and also if needs be, shorten the sets to seven games, so players do not have to wait in the cold too long.

Those who have full membership (family and adult) and Under 25s do not have pay for these sessions.  Resident and Social Rackets members please take up our winter membership on ClubSpark, which will cost you £30 so that you can join in our winter club tennis sessions.  Thank you. https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/ElmsLawnTennisClub/Membership/Join

Welfare and Safeguarding

Our Welfare Officer Gill Taunton would like to thank everyone for adhering to the current restrictions regarding how we play at the Club.  It has meant that many members have been comfortable with the arrangements and the court usage has increased substantially.  It remains vital that you continue to be vigilant in adhering to social distancing and to protect everyone who would like to enjoy playing tennis at our winter venues.

Welfare of players and the club being a safe place to enjoy playing tennis is a high priority and if you have time and are interested in helping the club and supporting Gill with this we would like to hear from you.
