Dear <<First Name>>,

I'm going to get right to the point: On Tuesday May 25, we announced BC’s Restart Plan. This is a step-by-step guide as to how we’ll be able to come together again and resume some of the things we love, like travel, sports, gatherings, and events.

I've added more details about our restart plan below, but the headline is that all of the hard work everyone has been doing to follow restrictions, limit physical contact and most importantly get vaccinated is paying off. If we continue to abide by restrictions as they are loosened I'm incredibly hopeful as to where we'll be even a few months from now!

Let's keep staying strong together, helping our community members and caring for each other.

BC's Restart Plan

I am happy to share the long-awaited news that B.C.’s Restart plan comes into effect today. Our restart will be careful and measured. We’ve laid out our plan to provide British Columbians as much predictability as we can. This plan is guided by the best advice of public health professionals about what is safe, given our current situation and what we can expect in the coming weeks.

As of Tuesday, we are in Step 1 of the plan. This means that indoor dining can resume with safety protocols, and we can start having indoor visits of up to 5 people (or one other household). Outdoor sports games can also resume for adults and youth, with no spectators at this time. These are only a few highlights – I encourage you to check out the full plan at

Step 2 will start June 15 at the earliest, as long as we reach a 65% first-dose vaccination rate in the 18+ population, and provided our case counts and hospitalizations continue to decline.

This means that in order to continue with our restart, and have the summer we all want, we all need to continue following public health measures – continue wearing your mask in public places, staying within your travel zone, and if you feel sick, stay at home and get tested.

We have all sacrificed so much to try and keep our communities safe. We’ve given up precious time with loved ones; we’ve changed the way we do business; we've followed provincial health orders and adhered to guidelines. And now we can all look forward to putting this difficult time behind us.

Get Vaccinated & Get Your Second Dose!

Getting vaccinated is how we will all get back to normal. If you haven’t yet, now is the time. Everyone 12 and older in BC can register online at or by phone at 1-833-838-2323. Once you have registered, you’ll receive a text or email shortly with a link to book your appointment.

If you’ve already registered, take a few minutes to check in with your family, friends and neighbours –they might need some help or just an extra nudge to get themselves registered and keep themselves and their community safe.

Plus, BC is ahead of schedule and as a result we are accelerating the time in between vaccine doses. Register today for your first dose and you will be invited for your second dose approximately 8 weeks later.

Tourism Week

This week, May 25-30, is officially Tourism Week! This is our opportunity to support our local businesses and the BC tourism ecosystem. Go ahead and treat yourself to your favourite takeout - let’s give our support to the amazing people in this industry who responded to unprecedented challenges, with kindness, adaptability and resiliency.
