Want to be a part of our Co-op?

Are you an Artist or Craftsperson?  Are you looking for a place to sell your work?  Would you like to be part of a community of artists and craftspeople?  Shelburne Arts Co-op  is looking for new working members.  We are a cooperative of 40 to 50 artists who work together to offer a beautiful gallery space in downtown Shelburne Falls. The Co-op is more than just a group of artists—it is a community.  A community that offers mentorship and support.  All of our artists have been selected to complement each other and bring something special to the mix.  We are constantly learning and growing in our work in part due to sharing of ideas and techniques.  We have been a presence in Shelburne Falls for twenty-one years.

What does it mean to be a working member?  Working members put in a minimum of twelve hours a  month.  This can be done by working in the gallery, attending meetings, writing the newsletter, hanging shows and creating new window displays, promoting us through social media and numerous other tasks that contribute to the upkeep and promotion of the gallery.  Working 12 hours also means that when your work sells you get 70% of the sale.

Interested?  Please go to our website: www.shelburneartscoop.com and click on the “join us” link. This will tell you how to submit your work to be juried.  The criteria we use is based on: technique, quality and craftsmanship, sense of color and design, marketability, fit/appropriateness with the gallery and price range.  You need to live within 50 miles of Shelburne Falls to belong.  We hope you will come visit the gallery and speak with any members who might be working and see how your artistry might fit in.

Your purchase keeps LOCAL and HANDMADE arts alive and we thank you!
