Fall Newsletter and Updates From
Meg Welch Dendler &
Serenity Mountain Publishing
The leaves are starting to change colors here in Arkansas, so it's time for a quick quarterly update for our friends and readers.
Dottie's Daring Day is in the last stages of development and will be published in time for Meg's spring events in 2017. Whew. Writing the book well is one thing, but the whole process of getting it ready to share with readers is just as long and sometimes even more complicated. In traditional publishing, most authors wait over a year to see their book finally in print. We have it down to about six months. Fortunately, we have a great team in place to help with all of the details. Meg has learned to do the paperback formatting herself using InDesign, which is great because so many little details can change at that stage of the game. MC Writing handles the ebook formatting for us because that is a whole different monster. This time around, Kelsey Rice created the book cover design. Kelsey also did the cover for At the Corner of Magnetic and Main with Pen-L Publishing. I was thrilled that she was available to work with me this time as well. And my daughter Callista (aka Leia) will be doing some illustrations for the story just like she did for Max's Wild Night. Having a trusted group in place makes the months of production as calm as they can be. Official publication date is February 1.
Meg is thrilled to have been accepted into the Cat Writers' Association this fall.
She was also honored as one of the Top 50 Cat Bloggers in October. It is an impressive group of writers, many of whom she already networks with, and she's excited to get to know this new group of colleagues.
