Our New Look, Exciting Website

Hurrah - Mothers' Network has a modern, new website.  Click on the link below to have a look at it.  Many thanks to Hilary Campbell of Manymeans for helping us to develop it.

Facebook Pages

Don't forget you can also find out what's going at Mothers' Network via our facebook page Mothers Network Wellington.  "Like" our page to stay connected.

We also have a new facebook page Expat Mums in Wellington because we know that many of our members (both existing and potential) are from overseas.  You can either ask for advice from expat Mums who have lived in Wellington for a while, or you can give advice to those who have just arrived.

Join us for our Mothers' Day Celebration and Launch of Mamawish 2013

To celebrate Mothers Day, we are organising a get together for Mums at the Southern Cross bar on Saturday, 11th May, 3pm - 5pm. If you'd like to meet up with other Mothers' Network Mums or would just like a chance to relax, come along and join us.  Please invite your Mum friends, especially those you think might be interested in attending a discussion group in 2013.  We'd love to see you there.

We'll also be launching Mamawish 2013 - come along and see what it's all about.

The Mothers' Network Team

Firstly, Mothers' Network would like to express a huge thanks to Susie Jones for all the hard work, time and effort she put into Mothers' Network since May 2011 when she started working for the organisation.  Susie left us last November to pursue other interests and goals.  You'll be missed Susie but we hope to see you at some of our future events.

Ruth Holt has joined the team as our new Groups' Coordinator.  Ruth will be organising our upcoming groups and hopes to get to know alot of our existing members too. Read more about Ruth

Melanie Neeley has joined the team as our new Administration Coordinator.  Mel will be dealing with the organisation's grant applications, publicity and communications. Read more about Mel

Carol Winter continues in her role as Finance Coordinator.

Welcome also to
Haajar Pengelly who has joined the Mothers' Network Core Group, and a big thank you to Nik Bark and Elizabeth Kerr for the time you both devoted to the Core Group.

We have groups planned all over Wellington in 2013. If you or anyone you know would like to attend please get in touch, there are still places left for all groups at this stage. Call on 04 383 8255 or send us an email.
Facilitators and Babysitters

If you are interested in either facilitating a discussion group, or babysitting at a daytime group, please get iCall on 04 383 8255 or send us an email.

New facilitator training will be starting soon, so please get in touch too if you would like to train to be a Mothers' Network facilitator.
Mamas - by Megan Williams (Dec 2012)

Megan is one of the Mums who was a member of our Term 4 2012 Island Bay group.  Megan wrote this special poem about her experiences and what led her to Mothers' Network.  Thank you for sharing it with us Megan.

Sometimes we gallop down the path
Today we pick flowers on the way
we go slow
We won’t get there very fast, infact we’re gonna be late
Mummy will just have to learn to go
with the flow

Sometimes we want our Mamas close
Cause we need to have a cry
Our burden has got heavy and
we can no longer try
To juggle all the jobs at once
Somethings gotta give

We lose our sleep, we lose our minds
We lose what we’re about
We forget to give ourselves a break
and we need to have it spelled out
That Mummy is important too and
other things can wait
The chores can marinate tonight cause
Mummy needs a break....
