Around this time of the year there is always a very obvious change in the air. Everyone just seems to be tense and stressed as they rush around to finish off projects or organise get-togethers while strategising about how they will manage the logistics and family politics.
“We can’t have lunch with your family because we did that last year so this year we have to do it with my family.”
“Aunt Penny was already planning on bringing the turkey so we can’t bring a turkey or she will get offended”
“Uncle Ben and Steve don’t talk to each other anymore, so we need to catch up with them separately.”
Stress, stress, stress… no wonder we are all getting a little tense!
I honestly can’t believe we are at the end of another year. Literally today while I was wandering around the shops and listening to people stress out around me, I got a sense of deja vu. It felt like it was only last week when I was organising Christmas 2017… wow.
So no matter where you are in the world, whether you are freezing in the snow and huddled around a fireplace, sweating with humidity, or sun-baking on a beach, I hope you take the time out to de-stress and just breathe. Don’t worry about the family politics or the logistics, be kind, be yourself and do what makes you happy.
I am sending you all the joy, best wishes and happiness that you deserve!
