SOS is excited to share with our patients that we will be starting a new electronic check in process to streamline appointment arrivals beginning November 30, 2022. The roll out of the new process will begin with various SOS orthopedic offices at different times over the next month.   You will be able to review and update your information on your own device before coming in for your scheduled appointment from the comforts of your home.  If you have a valid email and mobile number on file, we will email and text you your appointment confirmation a few days before your appointment, with a link that you will click to start your “pre-registration” check in process.  Having this completed prior to coming in for your appointment will expedite your arrival experience.  We will appreciate your patience with our check in staff as they orient to the new process.  Thank you for choosing SOS!

SOS Alternative Treatments

Did you know SOS has alternative treatments such as Laser Therapy and PRP? Learn more about these effective treatments below:

MLS Laser Therapy is an FDA-cleared treatment option that uses concentrated light energy to stimulate and maximize the body's own healing process to reduce inflammation, relieve pain and restore mobility. This conservative care option is non-invasive with minimal precautions or contraindications when applied appropriately. MLS Laser Therapy is an effective treatment option for acute & chronic conditions including, but not limited to: muscle strains/tears, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, joint/ligament sprains, trigger points, joint pain, neck & back pain, Arthritis, wound & incision healing. Laser therapy can also decrease pain & inflammation and expedite healing of tissues and incisions following post-operative procedures like total joint replacement, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, and Achilles tendon repair, to name a few. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an injection treatment often used for tendon and cartilage injuries. PRP is obtained from the patient's own blood, which is drawn and then spun at high speeds on a centrifuge machine. This separates the blood into layers, one of which is a layer rich in platelets and growth factors known to be important in muscle and tendon healing. This layer is then isolated and injected back into the patient at the site of injury. Physicians at SOS currently offering PRP injections are: Dr. Brad Raphael, Dr. L. Ryan Smart, and Dr. Todd Battaglia, Dr. Christopher Fatti, Dr. Frederick Lemley, Dr. John Parker, Dr. Kevin Kopko, Dr. Michael Fitzgerald, and Dr. Nathan Everding. To find out more about PRP injections ask your physician or call 315-251-3100 to book an appointment.
