Our last newsletter of the year.

This has been one of the most challenging years of our lives, but things are starting to look brighter. We've had some rain, things are greening up and you never realise how much of a difference seeing green makes to your wellbeing.

We are so appreciative of all our regular customers and all our new customers who have found us through the Buy from the Bush campaigns. It has made such a difference to our business in these trying times when our farm is struggling. We've heard so many stories of our city friends buying all their Christmas Gifts only from rural and regional stores.

If you haven't finished your Christmas shopping yet here are some of the sites sharing rural businesses:

Thanks to everyone who visited us in Sydney and braved the smoke, and to everyone who purchased from our stand in Toowoomba Bush Christmas.

It was a true family effort - here I am in Sydney with my husband Warren and our three daughters.

Thanks, Sarah for your product review of our Dog Shampoo Bars. "We absolutely love these soap bars for our pups! They are way easier to use on our dogs than shampoo from a bottle, and they lather up beautifully. We will definitely keep purchasing these for our 2 big fur babies :) "

You can purchase these bars individually or as part of a bare box of 10 if you prefer to save on packaging (and costs). Soaps get harder and better the longer they cure (age).

Please order by Sunday 15 December if you'd like to receive your order before Christmas Day. Our courier and Australia Post have advised this as the last day for us to ship. Exceptions: If you live in a remote area (rural and non-major cities), Western Australia or Northern Territory it is unlikely that you would receive an order before Christmas if you haven't ordered yet.

December Opening Hours & Days

Closed Mondays, 25 & 26 December

January 2020 Opening Hours & Days

We're going to be pretty happy to say goodbye to 2019! It's been a very tough year with this ongoing drought. We have been blanketed in smoke several times for days at a time, dust storms that roll through regularly, heatwaves and of course lack of water.

Many of you have experienced the smoke in your region as well. We hadn't realised how many of us were depressed from the smoke until it lifted. It had such a stronger effect on our mental health than anything else we experienced this year. Please keep an eye on your family, friends and neighbours.

We have been very grateful to receive 46mm of rain this month so far (with more forecast for the next few days). Our total for 2019 from January to today is 253mm (the average annual rainfall for our region is 758mm).

We hope when we next email you in 2020 that the tide has turned on this drought. We'll get through this together by supporting each other.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and an amazing New Year. Thank you all for being part of the Washpool story this year.

The Washpool Difference

Washpool is a small rural soaperie in Ballandean, Queensland. We believe in being small enough to listen and being big enough to deliver. We believe in hand made and we take pleasure in providing meaningful employment to people living in our rural community.

We take a minimalist approach to handcrafting our soap bars. Wholesome ingredients, purposefully selected. We believe that health comes first and beauty follows. Our
customers value authenticity, simplicity and purity.

Wherever possible, we choose to source our ingredients locally, often direct from the growers.  When we purchase ingredients from further afield we place great emphasis on using ethical, organic, fair trade and sustainably produced raw ingredients. Our packaging is biodegradable, recycled and recyclable where possible.

Our products include cold-pressed edible oils,
butters and milks, extracts, infusions, activated and whole botanicals along with clays, honey, fruit and vegetables. Basically, ingredients
you can recognise, most of which are edible.

Review & win!

Every month one reviewer will be chosen randomly & awarded a $20 credit on their Washpool account

Each review you make during the month will give you an extra chance in the draw. Reviews made during the previous month are eligible.
