Support Staff (PSUWA) meetings

Important information sessions for members employed under the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement (PSUWA) will be held in the last week of October to update you on negotiations for a new agreement.

The PSUWA covers non-teaching staff in DoE and TAFE.

The employer has agreed that one hour of paid worktime can be used for you to participate in the meetings. You will need to advise your line manager that you will be attending a meeting.

A ballot will be held soon after the meetings and it’s important that you are informed about all the issues and options before you cast your vote.

MEETING DETAILS:

Hobart:

  • Tuesday, 25 October, 8.45am to 9.30am.
  • AEU Office, 32 Patrick Street.
Devonport:
  • Wednesday, 26 October, 8.45am to 9.30am.
  • AEU Office, 63 Best Street.
Launceston:
  • Wednesday, 26 October, 8.45am to 9.30am.
  • AEU Office, 39 Paterson Street.
Burnie:
  • Thursday, 27 October, 8.45am to 9.30am.
  • Venue - TBC

You will have received a letter from your employer, at the direction of Government, with a ‘take-it-or-leave-it” offer of a 2% wages increase for 3 years and 10 days of Family Violence Leave.

It was a very disappointing and heavy-handed approach from the Government and demonstrated a complete lack of respect for proper process and good-faith negotiations which has underpinned employer-employee relations.

We will email you shortly with further details about the meetings.
