GWNET – Women in Energy Expert Platform
Global Women's Network in the Energy Transition (GWNET) launched its Women in Energy Expert Platform which quickly grew to over 1000 members, since its launch in April 2019. To get the most out of the platform, we encourage you to create a profile by uploading your picture, indicating your industry and experience, adding your country, and sharing your biography and your interests. As soon as you create your profile, you can start engaging with other members.

Our Activities Round-Up for March & April 2020
1) Webinar: Women In Energy Networks
Nameerah Hameed, WIE Chairperson, was invited to speak at a webinar titled "Networks Promoting Women In Energy" held on April 7, 2020. This was jointly hosted by Clean Energy Solutions CenterClean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E), and the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET), in a six-part webinar series on Gender Equality for a More Rapid and Inclusive Energy Transition. The recording will be shared shortly, so keep a lookout! More here.
2) Campaign for International Women's Day
For this year's International Women's Day celebrations, our team planned to celebrate the countless women in energy and to do this, we started a new online hashtag campaign under #womENERGY2020. We loved your enthusiam as you tagged women who inspire you in the energy sector! We will continue using this hashtag through out this year to celebrate our brilliant women in energy in Pakistan!
2) Workshop with K-Electric, Karachi
Seher Abbas, WIE Chair for Karachi, hosted a Workshop titled "Opening up the Power Market in Pakistan" in Karachi on March 3, 2020. This was jointly organized with K-Electric and hosted at their offices. Speakers included Ms. Ayesha Akhtar (GM K-Electric), Nadia Nabi (Legal Advisor NEPRA), and Suleman ur Rehman (Commercial Head Reon).
