Did you know? The Spirit Bear is not albino, but rather it is a black bear that has white fur due to a rare genetic trait.

Happy New Year!

I hope you have been enjoying the holiday season.

2013 has been a great year, and I want to thank you for your support. Personally, I ran my first 50miler, qualified for the Boston Marathon, tackled some new hikes, published a hiking eBook, tried surfing in Tofino, and swam with a whale shark! I hope you've been able to get some adventure into your days also.

If you're like me, you've already begun planning some outdoor adventures for the upcoming year. If you need some help picking out races and events to attend, the Events Calendar has been updated for 2014 to help with the process. Here's to you and an amazing 2014!
