Outdoor Clubs in Your City

With the summer slowly approaching the outdoors is becoming more accessible. It's a great time to start thinking about the trips and hikes you want to do this year, or maybe even jumping into a new sport. One great way to find new trails, meet new people, and learn something new is through clubs.

In the Lower Mainland, there are no shortage of clubs around for whatever activity you're into, whether its hiking, kayaking, running or cycling. Some clubs are free, others charge for membership and each club will have its own rules and culture. But there are no shortage of clubs around, so I’m positive you’ll be able to find something that’s a fit for you.

To help with the process, I recently created a Clubs Page that aggregates the local clubs I was able to dig out of the interwebs, broken out by activity type. Peruse the list and see if there's any clubs that might be a fit for you.

If you know of any clubs I've missed, please reply to this email and let me know.

Monthly Sport Round-ups

I'm going to introduce a new monthly segment on the blog called 'The Trail Running Run-Down', which covers a recap of the month's trail running news, race reports and results, and a look ahead to upcoming races. I realize trail running is my particular sport of interest these days but the website is called Outdoor Vancouver and there are other activities that should be covered more as well.

So I wanted to put a little call-out to see if anyone was interested in contributing a monthly post for a sport they are passionate about and connected into the local scene. Examples might be cycling/ mountain biking, kayaking, triathlon, whatever. I can't offer any compensation, but it would be a great platform to get some news out about your sport. Let me know if you or someone you know might be interested.

Did you Know?

Did you know at the top of these newsletters, each time there is a new random fact? Right there at the very top in teeny tiny font, check it out.

Until next month!
