Part 1: Discovering your digital collections on Twitter
Part of sharing your digital collections is to engage the community at large, to help people discover and express their community heritage in different ways. Social media is a great way for your users to share their discoveries and it's also a way for you to engage with those users.
Follow this series of quick tips to see who's been re-posting or mentioned the collection items on Twitter. Discover how far have they travelled, or maybe you can gain new information about the items to add to your records, or use this as an opportunity to interact with the Twitterverse and encourage conversation!
Open your Twitter account
Enter your digital collection URL in the Twitter Search bar, i.e. images.ourontario.ca/whitby or vitacollections.ca/digital-kingston or collections.fwio.on.ca
See who has re-posted items from your collection
Respond to the post, like it, or retweet
Search Twitter for your digital collection address to see where your collection items are being mentioned and re-posted!
Use Twitter to share your collection:
Add your Twitter handle
to your VITA Agency profile to activate Twitter Cards!
