Thank you to all that volunteered this month.

Building update: Prayers Appreciated!

Thank you, everyone, for your prayer support! We couldn't do what we do without your encouragement, involvement and prayers!! With every passing week, we become painfully more aware of the needs of many in our community, specifically those forced to deal with homelessness.  Steps are being taken to address these very real needs through a future housing ministry. Currently, we are going through the process required to release the funds that were raised for a Bridge building in 2010. The release of these funds will allow us to move forward in the vision God gave us to provide temporary and transitional housing as well as allow us to more quickly and efficiently address the hunger and clothing needs of those we serve.  Please continue to pray with us for His provision for a place for The Bridge to call home.

North Texas Giving Day: SEPTEMBER 19th

In addition to the funds being released, we have raised $1,530 of the $8,400 additional funds needed to close on a cash purchase.  There are also approximately $1,500 in closing fees that The Bridge will need to sign on the dotted line. With September 19th being North Texas Giving Day, won't you consider making a tax-deductible donation towards our building fund to help us reach this goal? We do not meet all the requirements to have donated funds matched on this day for this year (we don't have a physical location which is one of the requirements), however we do hope you will still consider rallying with other North Texans and making the 19th one of the largest North Texas Giving Days ever by making a donation to The Bridge Connection.

As a reminder The Bridge Connection is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. All donations made to The Bridge Connection are tax deductible.  We can continue making HOPE a reality to many in our community through your generous support. Thank you!!

Please make your donations payable to The Bridge Connection and mail to:

Adopt A Block
We wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who was able to volunteer at and/or prayed for our first ever ADOPT A BLOCK!! It was an incredible day!! We were blessed to serve 91 guests through our various sections - clothing closet, food pantry, lunch hosted by the Bridge Cafe, and loving on the kiddos through the games in the Kidz Jam!! God showed up in His mighty wonderful way!! New relationships were formed and others continued to be nurtured with our neighbors in that area as well as those that God sent our way!

Your next opportunity to get involved in this exciting new initiative of The Bridge Connection is October 12th. The sign up is ready for you. Are you ready to be blessed?

The Bridge Cafe
In August, at The Bridge Cafe, we brought in our highest number of guests at a non-holiday time of the year...89! As the holiday months approach, please consider joining us the fourth Tuesday of every month to honor each guest that comes with a smiling face and a fun, safe environment for their kids to enjoy after they have a wonderful homemade dinner together.
The Food Pantry needs your help!
With our new Adopt A Block initiative starting this month, we are handing out more food than ever before!  Please consider donating an item (or even a case!) of the staple foods listed below.

  • peanut butter and jelly
  • canned meats
  • pasta and pasta sauce
  • macaroni and cheese
  • ramen noodles
  • chili
  • crackers
  • cereal
  • personal hygiene products
  • paper products
  • diapers of all sizes
  • wipes
Would you consider committing to buy a case of one of the items each month and donate towards The Bridge Food Pantry for the remainder of the year?
Clothing Closet

Over the last month, many hours have been put into reorganizing the vast amount of clothing donations we have received.  While at The Dream Center in L. A., we learned a much easier way to organize the clothes and we have put that into place in The Bridge's Clothing Closet.  The newly organized clothes and displays made their debut at the first Adopt A Block this month where hundreds of items of clothing were given away to those in attendance.  If you have clothing donations, please call The Bridge phone number to arrange a time for pick up or drop off.  We are in need of winter clothing for kids (mostly toddlers and up) and coats.  Thank you to Russell Shocklee and Danny Barbee for building the clothing displays and for each one of the WONDERFUL volunteers that helped stock those displays!
