Thursday 28th Jan 2016
10am - 1pm (buffet lunch included)
The George Hall, The Guildhall, Swansea

'YOUR SWANSEA BAY ADVENTURE...STARTS HERE!'

Join us to hear TWO VERY SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERS
and help us mark the beginning of the 'Year of Adventure'!
Maria Leijerstam
MARIA LEIJERSTAM

We are delighted to announce that we will be welcoming Year of Adventure ambassador, Maria Leijerstam, to the Stakeholder Day as our guest speaker.

Maria, who was born and lives in Wales, knows all about the meaning of adventure after becoming the first person to cycle to the South Pole in 2013; as well as successfully competing in a number of competitions across the world including the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Marathon, the Patagonian Expedition Race and the Triathlon Ironman UK. In addition, in 2007 she became the first Welsh woman to complete the Sahara Marathon running 6 marathons in 7 days whilst battling extreme high temperatures and when she’s not competing or adventuring, Maria runs a business, Multisport Wales, and is the founder and coordinator of the successful ‘Burn Series’ events.

Maria will be attending the Stakeholder Day to talk about her role as Visit Wales’ Year of Adventure Ambassador and to also share stories of her experiences from all over the world and running the ever popular ‘Burn Series’ events.
ANDREW PRICE

We're also looking forward to welcoming local activity operator Andrew Price from Dryad Bushcraft as a guest speaker. Andrew is the founder of Dryad and has been successfully running the business for a number of years following funding from the Sustainable Development Fund. They are one of Wales' leading bushcraft and survival operators offering a variety of experiences to suit all ages and abilities including practical woodsman, wilderness gourmet and bushmaster courses.

Andrew has also recently branched out into the world of television; becoming a regular presenter on ITV's Coast and Country programme.

Andrew is attending to speak about his experience of running a tourism business in Swansea Bay, being a Visit Swansea Bay partner with us and his involvement in the world of television!
