Join your neighbors Sunday mornings this October at the FRESHFARM Market at The Parks! This week, Timber Pizza returns, so pick up your pizza for lunch, fresh pasta for dinner, and produce for the week. Get delicious in-season vegetables and fruit, hormone-free meat, homemade pasta sauce and empanadas, vegan sausages, locally roasted coffee, and organic CBD products. Market Details & Location
The FRESHFARM market accepts SNAP/EBT, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks. The market is rain or shine and is located immediately inside the gate at Georgia Avenue and Butternut Street NW. Map 1010 Butternut Street NW for directions. Walking or biking is recommended, as parking is limited and the entryway is currently under construction. All attendees must wear masks and comply with all social distancing requirements mandated by District of Columbia government. 

Market Vendors This Week

Cannabreeze: Cannabreeze provides local, organic, non-GMO industrial hemp products in Northern Virginia by growing, harvesting, and processing tinctures, creams, juices, and edibles with the benefits of full spectrum hemp oil containing CBD (Cannabinoids). 

Cucina Al Volo: Owners Matteo and Daniele offer an assortment of locally made fresh pastas and sauces that will make you want pasta every day of the week.

DMV Empanadas: Brothers Nacho Almaraz and Marco Almaraz source local ingredients for their products and make everything from scratch using family recipes. Get hot empanadas for lunch after the market.

Holly Brook Farm: This farm in Berryville, Virginia raises heritage pork, lambs, pastured chickens, goats, rabbits, heritage turkeys, ducks, and rose veal with GMO-free feed from a local farmer, no added hormones, antibiotics, and lots of Vitamin D from the sun. 

Just AJ’s Foods: Just AJ’s produces plant-based, vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free sausages called “Veenies.” Veenies embrace the flavors of the veggies they use from other market vendors by roasting and seasoning them to perfection. 

Panorama Bakery: Panorama Bakery sells traditional French baguette, breads, and pastries, including scones and muffins.

Pleitez Produce: Pleitez Produce Farm is a family-owned and operated farm in Montross, VA with over 25 years of experience growing high-quality produce.

Qualia Coffee: Fresh Off the Roast is a small-batch roastery housed inside Qualia Coffee in Petworth. They carefully source coffee beans from around the world, roast them to bring out optimal flavor, and sell directly to customers within three days. Get hot or cold fresh coffee, and purchase beans to take home.

Right Proper Brewing Co.: Founded in 2012, this DC-based brewpub uses small-scale, “yeast-forward” craft brewing to produce artisanal ales and lagers. 

Timber Pizza Company: Petworth-based Timber Pizza Company serves wood-fired pizza using only the freshest locally-sourced ingredients.

Fall Fitness: Barre3 Live on Tuesday Morning
The Parks and Barre3 14th Street are PUMPED (but mindfully so) to announce the kick-off of a new virtual three-part fitness series. Join us on Instagram Live on Tuesday, October 6th at 8 am with Studio Manager and Instructor Sarah Peterson, accompanied by National Symphony Orchestra violist Mahoko Eguchi. This is a special performance collaboration with a world-class musician that is not to be missed!

This 30-minute class will focus on spinal mobility and is appropriate for all bodies and levels of fitness, and can easily be done in your living space. Learn more.

ULI Washington Panel on The Parks, Oct. 7
Join ULI Washington and The Parks at Walter Reed development team for a virtual tour and panel-style discussion on the work currently underway to transform a former Army medical campus into the next thriving urban submarket. The panel, held on Oct. 7 from 12 pm to 1 pm, will touch on the overall development vision, which calls for a variety of uses including residential, retail, education, office, and creative arts totaling over 3.1 million square feet. A tour following the panel will take a sneak peek at The Brooks, a soon-to-be-delivered 89-unit condominium building. The event costs $10 (ULI members ) or $25 (non-members). Register here
